Crank hub friction plates starting to slip and finally breaking is the most well-known reliability issue on the S55 engines fitted to the BMW M3 F80 / M4 F8x and M2 Competition.
Affecting both standard and tuned engines, this weakness can cause extremely serious damages to the engine. In order to help fixing this, MMR Performance offers this crank hub capture plate taking place without any modifications in order to secure the head of the OE crank bolt to prevent it from loosening!
The installation of this plate does not require the removal of the engine, access being sufficient by simply removing the radiator.
